Two of my favourite pastime and it is not often that I am able to go riding in January! In Carlsbad, I ride by the coast in the beach area and into Carlsbad Village. There are always a number of riders out in this area – but especially more since the weather has turned “summer” this week with highs of 26C! The 10 km path is mostly flat with a couple of hills, but nothing too steep. The rides out here are made interesting by the beautiful views of the sea and the beaches, which may easily tempt one to stop pedalling and just take in the surrounding – or like me, take pictures!
One growing trend in cinemas is the offering of a luxury movie-watching experience. The Mexico-based Cinépolis movie house chain (located throughout Central America, Brazil, and India) entered the U.S. market in 2011 with the introduction of five luxury cinemas in Southern California, with one in Carlsbad and another in Del Mar. Their movie theatres come complete with fully-reclining leather seats, in-theatre gourmet dining, full bar and waiter service, lounge-style lobbies and cutting-edge sound and digital projection technology. Advanced ticketing and reserved seating can be completed online and tickets range from $19.50 to $22.50 for 3D films.
