The Great Upheaval is an exhibit at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) in Toronto which opened at the end of November. The exhibit features masterpieces from the Guggenheim Collection by Chagall, Marc, Picasso, Kandisnky, Matisse, Modigliani, Mondrian and Brancusi. The spectacular works from 1910 to 1918 were created by the artists during the period leading up to and during the First World War and a time when world-changing inventions (e.g. telephone, radio, airplane, X-ray) turned what would have been considered as traditional life then, upside down. Thus, the beginning of an art revolution and The Great Upheaval of a war. The exhibit will run until March 2, 2014.
