Iceland

Another summer, another google search on “Where it is not hot in August”. This leads me to this Nordic nation that was named one of the safest and most peaceful countries on Earth. Iceland has become one of the top adventure travel destinations in the world. The Harpa Concert Hall opened in 2011 and is a stunning example of Scandinavian architecture. The glass exterior reflects the waters of the harbour front. There are guided tours offered that will give one access to the three main concert halls.

The Hallgrimskirkja, a Lutheran church, dominates the downtown skyline. Designed in 1937 to resemble mountains and glaciers of Iceland’s landscapes, it was not completed until 1986.
