Visita Maravilhosa

Church of São Roque (Igreja de São Roque) in is a 16th-century Jesuit church known for its plain facade and stunning Baroque interior.

My third visit to Lisbon – and its dining scene continues to evolve. Mix of iconic seafood institutions, modern interpretations of Portuguese classics, and an increasing number of Michelin-recognized contemporary concepts. From the historic “tascas” in Alfama to upscale rooftops with river views, the city offers high-quality gastronomy that remains relatively affordable compared to other Western European capitals.

First dinner was at Mercearia do Século – a charming mom and pop serving very good traditional dishes. Make a reservation as there are limited tables.

Rocco is the Italian restaurant located at the hotel I’m staying. It’s a hip place – and surprisingly very good food and service.

Every visit to this city brings me back to A Cevicheria by Chef Kiko Martins – and the food remains consistently good.

I decided to try another Chef Kiko Martins restaurant Las Dos Manos. Showcasing a fusion of flavours of Mexico and Japan supported by Portuguese ingredients. Another excellent find!

Last dinner was at Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant Oficio – calls itself an “atypical Tasco” , a modern tavern serving contemporary Portuguese cuisine. A very good close to this visit.

I chose to stay in the Chiado neighborhood again – but this time at The Ivens. Located on a quiet street, but steps to the main streets of restaurants, cafes and shops. Rooms are comfortable and service extremely friendly.
