Supergoed

I noticed the Dutch tend to use “super” more frequently in casual daily conversations, as an adjective or adverb to mean “very”, “extremely” or “amazing”.

Now talking about food: first dinner was at Serre located at the Hotel Okura. A Michelin Bib Gourmand designated restaurant serving fusion cuisine.

Next dinner was at another Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant Wils Bakery Cafe with the kitchen serving French classics with global influence. Now this is Super!

I had to go back on this trip to Rijks – the gem of a restaurant at the Rijksmuseum that has a one star Michelin. It was as good as I remember it. Excellent food and attentive service.

The final meal of this long weekend was at Alba, with a cuisine that is Greek-Dutch fusion and also received a Michelin Bib Gourmand designation. Do not let the casual environment mislead you – as the food was outstanding.

I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium on this trip. (It was only a month ago that management changed to Mandarin Oriental). It is a beautiful hotel with outstanding service, and well located in the Museum Quarter.
